Hey everyone. I picked up a copy of Replikants on friday. It's definitly not Unwound but nontheless I still enjoyed it.
I saw one description of this album that called it "John Cage influenced jazz." I don't think so.
It was recorded at home but does not suffer because of it. drums are scattered and distorted. Sounds blip and tweet in a mad swirl. Recorded voices jump, fade, and drop in, out and into each other. Very interesting listening. There are 24 tracks on the CD although some are only about 30 seconds long.
Although not for everyone, fans of challenging music should check this out. Hope I helped.

Just my personal opinion... It's a very cold mechanical album.. Nothing at all like Unwound... The album sounds a lot like coarsely produced industrial/experimental free-jazz/drone of sorts. (Sorry to throw around so many genre names at once.)
If that description excites you, then by all means, check it out.
